Scott Griggs, Principal Broker and Owner, founded Tennessee Valley Realty Associates in 2010. Amidst major changes in the real estate and mortgage markets, he developed a new approach to the traditional Real Estate Brokerage. Abandoning out dated techniques, utilizing current technologies and looking ahead to respond to future market trends, are what sets him apart from others. Scott graduated Auburn University before moving to Knoxville in 2001.
Beginning in consumer sales, he moved to the mortgage industry and worked as a mortgage loan officer for several years. This inside knowledge of loan programs, lending guidelines, underwriting processes, inspections and appraisals gives his clients a tremendous advantage when buying or selling property of any kind. Not all real estate contracts make it to the closing table. Issues with buyer financing are the main reason for failed contracts. The ability to identify potential problems or weaknesses in advance, often provides the valuable time needed to take action to prevent a failed contract. After many years of closed mortgage loans, Scott put away his mortgage calculator and loan program guidelines and applied for his real estate license. After 5 years of industry experience he applied for his Broker license in Tennessee.
Scott embraces continuing education as a core competency that sets himself apart from his competitors. Knowledge of market trends on the local level and insight of what is trending on a national and regulatory level provides valuable information made available to clients and agents within the firm. Scott has found a way build a real estate firm comprised of highly trained consultants rather than a traditional sales staff.
